Breaking Barriers: Living with a Stoma
To mark World Ostomy Day 2025, we are proud to launch our new downloadable mini-guide - Living with a Stoma. This resource brings together practical, accessible information to support people living with a stoma in Ireland.
About the Guide
Living with a stoma can be a major adjustment - but you’re not alone. This guide was created by us at Crohn’s & Colitis Ireland, drawing on trusted information and resources, including input from our partners at Coloplast. It’s designed to help you feel more confident and informed in your day-to-day life.
However, this is just the beginning! We’re planning to expand the guide in the coming months, so watch this space for even more support and insights.
What’s Inside:
- Understanding Your Stoma: Types, care basics, and common concerns
- Travel & Lifestyle Tips: Including travel certificates, hydration advice, and the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyard
- Support & Services: How to access stoma care nurses, Coloplast support, and CCI’s online support groups
- Product & Care Info: Navigating supplies and long-term care
This guide was developed by us at Crohn’s & Colitis Ireland, with support from Coloplast, as part of our shared commitment to breaking down barriers and improving quality of life for people living with a stoma.
