Gutcast, the first podcast for people living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Ireland, developed by Crohn’s and Colitis Ireland (CCI) and Johnson & Johnson, has returned with a brand-new episode recorded live in Cork at the 40th anniversary celebrations for CCI.

The award-winning podcast was originally launched in 2020 in response to national research among people living with IBD in Ireland that explored the impact the disease on quality of life and highlighted the need for a convenient source of information to help manage living with IBD.

To date, Gutcast has had over 34,000 listens with more than one thousand listens per episode and feedback from the IBD community has been resoundingly positive.

The latest episode features host Amy Kelly, Chief Operations Officer at CCI joined by panelists, Victoria Spillane and Ciarán Davis, patient advocates, and board members of CCI. Together, they discussed their respective experiences living with IBD and recount their diagnoses, how they now manage their condition why they got involved with CCI. They were also joined by IBD nurse Angela Mullen, who spoke about how the management of IBD has advanced over the past 40 years and how patients can manage the condition.

Gutcast Live is available on the CCI website (www.crohnscolitis.ie), JanssenWithMe (www.janssenwithme.ie/gutcast ) as well as on Apple Podcast App, Spotify and wherever you access your podcasts.
